Displacement:

The shortest path/length between the two points is called Displacement or, A shift inside an object's location is called displacement. It is a vector quantity with such a magnitude as well as an orientation.

Example: Whenever an item travels from location A to location B, its position changes.

Mathematically, the displacement can be represented as:

Here,

$∆\mathrm{x}$ is displacement.

${\mathrm{x}}_{\mathrm{f}}$ is the final position.

${\mathrm{x}}_0$ is the initial position.
