Intersensory association

  1. It is also referred to as multisensory or cross-modal integration ( integration that occurs in the association cortices of the brain).
  2. It aids in cognition and usually takes place when sensory input is obtained.
  3. Let’s take an example- when a person experiences an auditory and visual sensation, the intersensory association between them takes place that will help the person to understand these inputs and respond to an output.
