A person’s sense of belonging or person’s identity to one or more nations, to one more state is known as national identity. National identity is socially constructed and it is not an inborn trait. A person’s national identity is connected to culture, language, colors, national symbols, music etc. By adopting values, beliefs people incorporate personal identity with national identity.
Cultural artifacts, national consciousness, nations history, language, national symbols are national identities which arise as a direct result of elements of common points. Chauvinism is extreme loyalty towards one’s country, the firm belief in superiority of the country. This is the extreme expression of national identity.
