Solution

Porogamy:

  1. When the pollen lands on the stigma, it germinates and a pollen tube is formed that starts from the stigma and extends up to the ovary.
  2. The male gametes traveling in the pollen tube are released into the ovary for fertilization to occur.
  3. When the pollen tube enters the ovary from the micropylar end, the location of the filiform apparatus, is known as porogamy.
  4. Porogamy is a direct path for entering the ovule and the most common form of fertilization seen in angiosperms.
