Solution

Presbyopia:

It is a condition that occurs gradually with increasing age in which the eye loses the ability to see things with clarity.

Cause of presbyopia:

  1. In young people, the natural lens of the eye is flexible and elastic and changes its shape easily to view things either near or far.
  2. As we age, the lens becomes rigid and less flexible. Hence, nearby objects cannot be seen clearly.

Treatment:

  1. Presbyopia is diagnosed by an eye exam.
  2. There is no cure for presbyopia.
  3. The vision can be corrected by using eyeglasses, contact lenses, or in some cases surgery.
