Protoplasm:
- The protoplasm constitutes a cell's living resources.
- Protoplasm is a colorless and translucent fluid that mainly constitutes water along with ions, organic molecules, and salts.
- The part of the cell located within the cell membrane namely, the cytoplasm, nucleus, and all the cell organelles constitute the protoplasm.
Functions of the protoplasm:
- It is responsible for all the cellular processes that take place in the cell for its proper functioning.
- The response to various stimuli such as light, temperature, shock, etc., are a result of the characteristics of the protoplasm.
