Protoplasm:

  1. The protoplasm constitutes a cell's living resources.

  3. The part of the cell located within the cell membrane namely, the cytoplasm, nucleus, and all the cell organelles constitute the protoplasm.

Functions of the protoplasm:

  1. It is responsible for all the cellular processes that take place in the cell for its proper functioning.
  2. The response to various stimuli such as light, temperature, shock, etc., are a result of the characteristics of the protoplasm.
