Solution

Withdrawal of south-west monsoon winds from skies of north India during months of October and November is known as retreating monsoon. When the retreating monsoon blows from the northeast across the Bay of Bengal, it picks up a significant amount of moisture, which is subsequently released after moving back onto the peninsula. The Eastern Coast of South India receives rainfall from Retreating Monsoon. Wind Movement is from Land to Sea during Retreating Monsoon. Retreating Monsoon carries dry winds. Retreating Monsoon brings rains in India but not as much as Advancing Monsoon. The Winds start retreating from the Northern Plains when the temperature falls in the Northern Plains in October and November.
