Solution

Differences between direct current and an alternating current are given below:

Alternating current

Direct current

1.AC is a safe way to transfer electricity over long distances, even between cities.DC is unable to travel long distances. It runs out of power.
2.The frequency of alternating current is determined by the country. However, the frequency is usually 50 or 60 hertz. There is zero frequency in DC.
3.The flow of current in alternating current reverses direction on a regular basis. It flows steadily in one direction.

AC used in India change direction in one second:

  1. Direct current always flows in one direction, whereas alternating current alternates its direction on a regular basis. In India, the frequency of alternating current is 50 hertz, and it changes direction twice per cycle. As a result, AC changes direction 100 times per second.
