What is the difference between antibiotics and antibodies?

Open in App
Solution

Antibiotics- A substance/drug used to treat bacterial infections. They have no effect on viral infections. Generally, an antibiotic was a substance produced by one micro-organism that selectively inhibits the growth of another. Synthetic antibiotics produced are chemically related to natural antibiotics.
Antibodies: Also called immunoglobulins are Y-shaped proteins that are produced by the immune system to help stop foreign substances from harming the body. These foreign substances can be viruses, bacteria or other chemicals.
