CBI – Central Bureau Of Investigation

CBI is the main investigating agency of the GOI. It is not a statutory body; it derives its powers from the Delhi Special Police Establishment Act, 1946. Its important role is to prevent corruption and maintain integrity in administration. It works under the supervision of the CVC (Central Vigilance Commission) in matters pertaining to the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.

NCB – Narcotics Control Bureau

NCB is India’s Apex Coordination and Intelligence Organization. It seeks to tackle drug smuggling and prohibited substance abuse and its head office is located in New Delhi, India. It was created under Section 4(3) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, in March 1986. Under the Customs Act, 1962, the Drugs & Cosmetics Act, 1940, etc., to coordinate the actions of agents, state government and related authorities.

ED – Enforcement Directorate

ED is an economic intelligence organization that implements laws of economics and defends against financial crimes in the nation. It stands under the Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, Indian Govt. The primary objective of the ED is to enforce two major Indian government laws, including the FEMA 1999 (Foreign Exchange Management Act) and the PMLA 2002 (Money Laundering Prevention Act).
