Solution

The human ear:

  1. The human ear is a balance and hearing organ.
  2. It detects and processes sound through transduction.
  3. The ear is responsible for converting sound waves into electrochemical impulses and maintaining balance.

Parts of the human ear:

  1. Outer ear:
  • The outer ear, middle ear, and inner ear are the three components that make up the human ear.
  • The pinna and the ear lobe make up the outer ear.
  • Pinna is a cartilaginous structure that sends sound waves into the external auditory canal.
  • The Pinna is the part of the ear that is visible from the outside.

2. Middle ear:

  • The middle ear is made up of three little bones that are filled with air.
  • Malleus, incus, and stapes are the names of the three bones that make up the middle ear.
  • These three bones transmit sound vibrations on the tympanic membrane further.

3. Inner ear:

  • The inner ear is often known as the labyrinth.
  • It is made up of two primary structures.
  • The cochlea and vestibular system are the two structures.
  • The cochlea's primary function is to aid hearing.
  • Three semi-circular canals, the saccule, and the utricle make up the vestibular system.
