Question

What Is The Use Of Law Of Machine

Open in App
Solution

Determine the Use Of Law of Machine.

  1. The machine law describes the relationship between the load lifted (W) and the effort applied (P). The machine law is the relationship between the load lifted (W) and the effort applied (P).

Formula: P=mW+C

Where

  • P = Effort applied
  • W = Load lifted
  • m = Constant equal to the slope of the line
  • C= Exhibits mechanical friction

Use Of Law of Machine:

  1. It provides information on the load and effort required by a machine.
  2. It explains the friction in the machine when there is no load.
  3. The law of machine may be used to discover the effort when the load is known, the load when the effort is known, and the maximal mechanical advantage.

Hence, the law of machine may be used to calculate the effort necessary to lift a specific load or the load that can be raised with a given effort.
