This is an Archaeological site. King Mayurdhwaj of the Chero dynasty ruled from Chirand. In the vicinity of Chirand there are 4 rivers. This region has excavations done by the Archaeological Survey of India. The excavations in Chirand have revealed Iron age settlements, Chalcolithic and Neolithic age settlements. There is a large prehistoric mound in this location. During the pre-medieval period, the Pal Dynasty had ruled in this area.
