Chirand is located in the North Indian state of Bihar. It is located on the Northern bank of river Ganges. Chirand is located in Sarand district. Chirand is located around 15 Kms away from Chhapra, one of the District headquarters in Bihar.

This is an Archaeological site. King Mayurdhwaj of the Chero dynasty ruled from Chirand. In the vicinity of Chirand there are 4 rivers. This region has excavations done by the Archaeological Survey of India. The excavations in Chirand have revealed Iron age settlements, Chalcolithic and Neolithic age settlements. There is a large prehistoric mound in this location. During the pre-medieval period, the Pal Dynasty had ruled in this area.
