Solution

Environment:

  1. The term "environment" is used to refer to the whole of all living and non-living things as well as their influences on human life.
  2. Everything in our immediate environment—both living and nonliving objects like the soil, the water, the creatures, and the plants—adapt to its environment.
  3. It is the environment that provides the nourishment for creatures' survival on the planet.
  4. The environment mostly consists of the following components:

i) Biological component (Biotic):

  1. As the name suggests, all living organisms are included in the biological component of the environment.
  2. Interactions between abiotic elements and living things like plants, animals, and microbes result in different ecosystems.
  3. Additionally, the species that make up these ecosystems are categorized into categories like producers, consumers, and decomposers.
  4. On the food chain, they are also found at different trophic levels.
  5. For example, all autotrophs are producers and are found at the base of a food chain.

ii) Physical component (Abiotic):

  1. The non-living portion of the environment is referred to as the physical component.
  2. Air, water, soil, climate, and others are examples of abiotic components.
  3. The three main groupings of physical components are the atmosphere, hydrosphere, and lithosphere.
