Tropic of cancer is the imaginary line that divides India into almost two equal parts.
Tropic of cancer
- The Tropic of Cancer is the circle marking the latitude 23.5 degrees north, where the sun is directly overhead at noon on June 21, the beginning of summer in the Northern Hemisphere.
- North of this line is the subtropics and Northern Temperate Zone.
- South of the Tropic of Cancer and north of the Tropic of Capricorn are the Tropics.
- The declination of the Sun and the latitude of the Tropic of Cancer are equal to the obliquity of the ecliptic, the angle that the ecliptic makes with the celestial equator.
