Which compound would not produce Ammonia gas?

Ca(CN)2 does not produce ammonia on reacting with water.

Mg3N2 + 6H2O ⟶ 3Mg(OH)2 + 2NH3
2H2O + Ca(CN)2 ⟶ Ca(OH)2 + 2HCN
CaCN2 + 3H2O ⟶CaCO3 + 2NH3
  • Any ammonium compound is heated with an alkali that liberates ammonia gas.
  • Also, concentrated ammonia solution would decompose to form ammonia and water.
  •  Ammonium ions can be identified in a solution by adding dilute sodium hydroxide solution and gently heating.
