Question

Why are the planets round?

Open in App
Solution

Planets are round because gravity causes all the material to gather equally around a gravitational centre, but not all planets are perfectly round. They have imperfections in their shapes and on their surfaces, but they generally keep their round, spherical shape. The force of gravity pulled this molten material inwards towards the planet’s centre into the shape of a sphere.
