Solution

Ribs:

  1. They are the bony framework of the thoracic cavity.
  2. There are 12 pairs of ribs present in the body of a human being.
  3. Each rib is a single, flat, thin bone that attaches ventrally to the sternum and dorsally to the vertebral column.
  4. The ribs are known as bicephalic as each rib possesses two articulation surfaces at its dorsal end.

True ribs :

The initial seven pairs of ribs are known as true ribs as they are connected with the thoracic vertebrae dorsally and ventrally with the sternum.
