At the swearing-in ceremony, Mandela felt highly fortunate to welcome the dignitaries and foreign leaders because it was not too long ago that South Africans were called outlaws. Thus, he thanked all of them for coming from far and large to attend the first Black President of South Africa’s historic oath-taking ceremony. This was a great gesture to a newly-born free democratic country with international recognition. This occurrence can be seen as a common success for justice, peace and the dignity of human beings.
