We need to separate different components of a mixture because-
- Sometimes we might require a particular useful component to be separated out, from all the useful components given to us.
- Mixtures are separated to remove harmful or undesired components.
Example:
(a) Tea leaves are separated from the liquid tea with a strainer while serving tea.
(b) Grains are separated from husks, by winnowing.
