  1. Menstruation is a regular event occurring in women wherein there is normal vaginal bleeding and is a part of a healthy woman’s monthly cycle.
  2. PMS (premenstrual syndrome) is when a girl has emotional and physical symptoms before or during her period.
  3. Symptoms like mood swings, anxiety, and bloating can be seen.
  4. In the event of fertilization, the future fetus would rest here until childbirth.
  5. But if there is no such event, these uterus lining tears leak through the vagina in the form of menses.
  6. This lasts for about 2-7 days.
  7. If there is no fertilization, there is a dip in progesterone and estrogen levels, finally touching a level that signals the body to begin menstruation.
  8. Periods are a way by which women release tissues that are no longer needed.
