Solution

Refraction:

A deviation from a straight route taken by a light beam or energy waves while crossing obliquely from one substrate into another with a differing velocity is called refraction.

The reason why the sun appears reddish early in the morning:

  1. The sun is at its furthest distance from the earth's surface in the early morning.
  2. As stated in the above figure, When sunlight passes through the earth's atmosphere, light with shorter wavelengths, such as blue, is scattered by dust particles, while light with longer wavelengths, such as red, reaches the human eye lens. As a result, the sun appears reddish in the morning.
  3. Because there is no atmosphere on the moon to disperse the light, an astronaut on the moon will not be able to view this event.
