Respiration:

2. Energy in the form of ATP is released in this phase by the breakdown of glucose, which is further used by cells to perform multiple roles.

Two types of respiration occur:

1. Anaerobic respiration

It is a form of respiration that occurs to produce energy in the absence of oxygen.

2. Aerobic respiration

• It is the type of respiration that takes place to generate energy in the presence of oxygen.
• It is a continuous process in the cells of animals and plants.
