Write a short note on fundamental rights and protection of freedom.
Fundamental rights are the basic human rights enshrined in the Constitution of India which are guaranteed to all citizens. They are applied without discrimination on the basis of race, religion, gender, etc. Significantly, fundamental rights are enforceable by the courts, subject to certain conditions. There are six fundamental rights of Indian Constitution along with the constitutional articles related to them are mentioned below:
1. Right to Equality
2. Right to freedom
3. Right against exploitation
4. Right to freedom of Religion
5. Cultural and Educational Rights
6. Right to Constitutional Remedies
A condition in which an individual has the right to speak, act and pursue his own happiness without any unwanted restrictions is known as freedom. This leads to an increase in productivity, a high quality of life and harmony in society. A country must consider the rights of its citizens and protect these rights so that every citizen lead their life freely without getting exploited. Therefore, protection of freedom is essential to maintain peace.
