Water is one of the most significant resources on earth. Life cannot exist without water. It has many unique features that make it a highly valuable resource. Together with its abundance on the planet, which is about 71% of the surface of the Earth, few specific water characteristics make it a vital resource for plants, animals, and human beings. Some of such water features are discussed below.

1. Water has the potential to dissolve many substances and is a very effective solvent.
2.In all solid, liquid, and gaseous states, the boiling point and freezing point of water make it available easily.
3.The specific heat of water is pretty high. It helps water to gradually absorb and release heat, thus controlling its environment’s temperature.
4.Water can enable light to reach the life forms that are immersed in it, due to its transparency. In the seas, lakes, and rivers, this really is important for the sustainability of animals and plants.
5.In fact, water is neither acidic nor basic. It has a pH of 7, making it a substance that is neutral.

Importance of water are as follows:

Scientific theories suggest that water is the root of life because almost all species require water to survive and live. For all living things, water also forms the foundation. Just as much water is drained from our bodies, it is important to refill the same or more.

1. Water is used for drinking, irrigation, construction, agriculture, factories, hospitals, water cycles in daily life.
2. Water increases metabolism and contributes to blood circulation.
3. Helps to produce saliva and delivers oxygen to body cells.
4. Water is houses of several marine species.
5. It is used as a mode of transportation.
