Question

Write examples of uniform motion and non-uniform motion.

Open in App
Solution

Uniform motion:

  1. Uniform motion is the motion of an object along a straight line with uniform velocity.
  2. Examples of uniform motion are the movement of the fan’s blades, the motion of the earth around the sun, the motion of the pendulum with equivalent amplitude on either side, etc.

Non-uniform motion:

  1. It is the motion of an object such that the velocity of the object is not uniform.
  2. Examples of non-uniform motion are running horses, movement of an aeroplane in clouds and landing, the collision of two vehicles, etc.

Hence, the example of uniform motion is the motion of the earth around the sun and the example of non-uniform motion is running horses.
