Solution

Ration shops are also, known as Fair Price Shops.

There are about 5.5 lakh ration shops all over the country and they keep stock of foodgrains, sugar kerosene and all other necessary goods required for cooking.

Fair price shops are now present in most localities like villages, towns and cities. In these shops, the items are sold to people at a lower price than the market price. A family with a ration card can buy a stipulated amount of these items every month from the nearby ration shop.

In most of the southern and western parts of the country, cooperative societies have set up fair price shops to sell low priced goods to poor people.
