Solution

Balanced chemical equation: A balanced chemical equation is the representation of a chemical reaction in which the number of atoms of each element is the same on both the reactant and product sides.

Neutralization Reaction:

  • In a neutralization reaction, an acid and a base react to produce water and salt.
  • It is an exothermic reaction, hence it releases heat.
  • Here the acid is Hydrochloric acid (HCl) and the base is Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH).
  • So, when Sodium hydroxide is added to the hydrochloric solution, the formation of a salt sodium chloride and water takes place.

Balanced Chemical Equation: NaOH(aq)Sodiumhydroxide+HCl(aq)HydrochloricacidNaCl(aq)Sodiumchloride+H2O(l)Water
