Solution

Answer:

The difference between ascertained and unascertained goods are tabulated below.

Ascertained

Unascertained

Ascertained products are also known as unique products. Goods that have been individually recognized and approved at the time of the selling contract are referred to as ascertained goods.

Goods that are not personally recognized or found at the time of the purchase agreement are referred to as unknown products.

Example – Where Y has agreed to sell to Z a particular radio bearing a different amount, a contract shall be concluded for the sale of specific or specified products.

Where Y offers to sell Z one bag of grain out of the hundreds of bags put in his/her go down, which would be the selling of unknown goods since the bag to be shipped is not specified.
