Solution

Evaporation:

  • It is a process in which a phase transition occurs from the liquid phase to the gaseous phase.

Effect of dryness on evaporation:

  • Humidity has an effect on evaporation.
  • The lower the relative humidity, the drier the air, due to which the rate of evaporation is higher.

Effect of wind speed on evaporation:

  • When wind speed increases, the rate of evaporation increases if the humidity remains constant.
  • But when the humidity increases and the wind speed remains constant, then the rate of evaporation decreases.

Steps to dry the garment faster:

  • The garment can be put in an open environment to dry quickly.
  • Keep the shirt below the fan in order to dry it early.
  • If it is daytime, place the shirt in the sun so that the rate of evaporation increases as the temperature rises.
  • An hot iron can be used to dry the shirt if it's not a sunny day.
