Step 2. Finding the ratio of the time period of the body, T2 to time period of the satellite, T1

By using the, formula of the Kepler's Third Law, the square of the time period of the orbit is directly proportional to the cube of the radius of the orbit.

T2 R3 [where, T is Time period , R is orbital radius.]

T22T12=R2R13 [Given in the question, R1=R,R2=2R]

T22T12=2RR3 [R1 is radius of orbit of satellite, R2 is radius of body]

T22=8R3R3T12

T22=8×1 [T1=1day (geostationary)]

T2=22

Therefore, the period of the body is 22 days.
