Alkali

• It is a base that can dissolve in water.

Example:

Sodium hydroxide $\left(\mathrm{NaOH}\right)$, Calcium hydroxide $\left(\mathrm{Ca}{\left(\mathrm{OH}\right)}_2\right)$ and Potassium hydroxide $\left(\mathrm{KOH}\right)$ are some examples of alkali.
