Question

Why do we use alternating current?

Open in App
Solution

Alternating current (AC):

  1. The electricity travels back and forth in the alternating current whereas in DC it's a direct supply of electricity.
  2. AC current is more efficient than DC. AC current can travel more distance with its back and forth nature which makes it easy to provide electricity to more houses.
  3. And AC is far easier and less dangerous to handle.
  4. Few places where DC is used are car batteries, trains, etc.,

These are the major reasons why we use Alternating current
