Leaves

  1. Vascular plants consist of appendages present above the ground called leaves.
  2. All the leaves have chlorophyll as their primary pigment which is green in colour and carries out photosynthesis.
  3. These pigments absorbs mainly wavelength of blue and red light, reflecting the green light.
  4. Although some leaves of the plants may not appear green but still have some form of chlorophyll along with other major pigments.
  5. Chlorophyll is found in almost all green plants, algae and cyanobacteria.
