Prokaryotes:
- They are organisms that do not have proper cellular organization i.e they lack cellular organelles and a nucleus.
- They include the bacteria in this group.
- Though these cells do not have a nucleus they do have DNA or RNA in them.
- These genetic materials present in the cell helps in the different function of the cell.
- They help in replication as well as carry genetic material.
Nutrition in prokaryotes:
- On the basis of nutrition, prokaryotes can be classified into Autotrophs and Heterotrophs.
- The autotrophs can use light (Photoautotrophs) or inorganic chemicals (Chemoautotrophs) as their source of energy while heterotrophs use organic chemicals.
