Harvesting energy from biomass:

  1. Biomass comprises of mass of all living organisms.
  2. Biomass is known as the total organic matter (carbon-based).
  3. Deadly and downed woody stuff, non-merchantable tops, timber, brush, etc., are used to harvest biomass.
  4. The energy from the biomass can be harvested directly via combustion to produce heat energy.
  5. Branches, dead trees, yard clippings, wood chips, etc., can also be used to harness energy from biomass indirectly such as bioethanol etc.
