Solution

Interaction of sperm with egg:

  1. The egg or ovum is the reproductive cell released by the ovaries, that is fertilized to form offsprings.
  2. Sperm refers to male reproductive cells.
  3. They are produced in the testes of males and fuse with the egg to form a zygote.
  4. The sperm ascends from the vagina towards the uterus and interacts with the ovum in the fallopian tube.
  5. It takes the sperm about 15-45 minutes after ejaculation to meet the egg.
  6. The fertilized egg descends from the fallopian tubes into the uterus where it implants itself into the uterine walls.
