Open in App
Solution

Algae as a food source:

  1. Algae have been among the most primitive living organisms on the planet, and humans have used them for ages as food or medicine.
  2. Calcium, iron, vitamins A, C, and K, potassium, selenium, and magnesium are all abundant in algae.
  3. Most significantly, it is one of the best natural sources of iodine, a vitamin that is deficient in most other foods and is required for a healthy thyroid gland to function properly.
  4. People take blue-green algae as a protein supplement and to cure high blood pressure.
  5. Algae that are cultivated in the fields and not in a proper sterilized environment are more susceptible to contamination. Hence, use only items that have been thoroughly tested and proven to be free of pollutants such as heavy metals, liver toxins known as microcystins, and dangerous microorganisms.
