Phycomycetes:

  1. The members of Kingdom Fungi are found in aquatic habitats and decaying wood in moist places.
  2. Asexual reproduction occurs by motile and non-motile spores.
  3. In sexual reproduction, the zygospore is formed by the fusion of two gametes.

Types of Phycomycetes:

  1. Rhizopus: The fungi are better known as bread mould because this fungus develops a mould on bread or appearance of orange rots.
  2. Albugo: The parasitic fungus which causes the appearance of white spots on mustard leaves.
