Turner syndrome:

  1. It's a genetic disorder that affects only females, resulting when the X chromosome is missing in a pair or partially.
  2. Hence they have 45 chromosomes with the 23rd pair represented as XO.
  3. Due to the missing X chromosome, although these individuals are females, they have under-developed female characteristics.

Features of Turner syndrome:

  1. Short neck with a webbed appearance, low hairline at the back of the neck, low-set ears, hands and feet that are swollen or puffy at birth, and soft nails that turn upward.
  2. They are females with short stature and underdeveloped feminine characteristics.
  3. They are sterile.
