This is the interaction between plant-parasitic nematode Bursaphelenchus xylophilus, the insect vector Monochamus sp., and the host tree Pinus sp.
It causes rapid wilting and mortality in susceptible host trees, typically Pinus species exotic to the US, including Scots (P. sylvestris) and Austrian (P. nigra) pines.
