Solution

Cladistics:

  1. It is a branch of taxonomy that helps in identifying, naming, and classifying organisms based on their characteristics as well as ancestral lineage.
  2. Cladistics is based on inferring an organism's ancestral history and then drawing comparisons between the characteristics that have recently appeared in the organism but were missing from the ancestor.
  3. This allows us to identify and study an organism's characteristics and understand its relative place in the evolution tree with respect to its ancestors.
