Question

What Is Differential Compartmentalization Of Oocyte Cytoplasm?

Open in App
Solution

Oocyte

  1. A germ cell or female gametocyte involved in reproduction is called an oocyte.
  2. It is an immature ovum or egg cell, to put it another way.
  3. During female gametogenesis, an oocyte is created in a female foetus in the ovary.

Differential Compartmentalization of oocyte cytoplasm

  1. If a fertilised egg's cytoplasm is compartmentalised in some way, the process of cleavage results in the differential "parcelling-out" of these cytoplasmic areas to various daughter cells in the zygote.
  2. Cleavage creates a conduit for the differential distribution of these determinants if these regions include chemicals that force cells to inherit them in favour of a certain pathway of differentiation.
