Neurulation:

  1. Neurulation is a process in which the neural plate bends up and later fuses to form the hollow tube.
  2. This process occurs in the early stages of embryonic development.
  3. The neural plates further develop to differentiate into the brain and the spinal cord of the central nervous system.
  4. It creates an epidermis layer around neural plates to protect them.
  5. It develops a neural crest migrating away from the dorsal surface of neural tubes and produces a different set of cell kinds.
