Solution
Three kingdom classification:
In 1866 Earnst Heckel classified organisms into three kingdoms Plantae, Animalia, and Protista.
The kingdoms were created on the basis of multi- or uni-cellularity of the organisms.
Protista included the unicellular organisms while Plantae and Animalia included multicellular organisms.
Plantae included the Kingdom of all plants while the Animalia Kingdom included all animals.
Limitations of three kingdom classification:
Each group has a vast variety of organisms having distinctive properties. for example- algae, fungi, monera, and protozoa were all placed in the protista group.
Prokaryotes and eukaryotes were not separated.
Protista includes both unicellular and multicellular organisms.
