1)Differentiate between Thallophyta, Pteridophyta, Bryophyta at least 5-10 points
2) Differentiate between Gymnosperms and Angiosperms. At least 5 points.
Dear student
1.Thallophyta:-
The plant body is thallus. It is not differentiated into root, stem and leaves.
There is no vascular system (i.e., conducting tissue which can transport water, minerals and food.
Sex organs are unicellular
No embryo formation takes place after fertilization.
Example: Algae.
2.Bryophyte:-
Plant body does not have true roots, stems and leaves but shows root like and leaf-like structures.
True vascular system is absent.
Sex organs are multicellular.
The embryo is formed after fertilization.
Example: Mosses
3. Pteridophytes:-
Plants have true roots, stems, and leaves.
True vascular system is present.
Sex organs are multicellular.
Embryo is formed after fertilization.
Example: Ferns.2.
Gymnosperm | Angiosperm | |
Nature of Seeds | Naked Seed | Seed inside seed case (fruit) |
Reproductive organs | Cones | Flower |
Xylem | They have only tracheid. Xylem walls have bordered pits. | They have vessels and tracheids. Xylem walls show simple pits. |
Phloem | Companion cells are absent. | Companion cells are present. |
Gymnosperms - They are more primitive than angiosperms.
Angiosperms - They are the most recent and highly evolved group of plants.
