(1) Draw ∆ABC, such that l (AB) = l (AC) = 4.2 cm and l (BC) = 6 cm.

Steps of construction:

(1) Draw a line segment BC = 6 cm.
(2) Taking B as centre, draw an arc of radius 4.2 cm.
(3) Taking C as centre, draw an arc of radius 4.2 cm that intersects the previous arc at A.
(4) Join A and B and A and C.
The required ∆ABC is thus drawn.
