Solution

(A) Rainfall - (III) Monsoon season

  • The period from June to September is referred to as Southwest monsoon season.
  • In India, most of the rainfall happens from July to September.
  • India receives this rain due to Southwest monsoon winds which start in June from Kerala.
  • Hence, in our country, most of the rainfall occurs during the monsoon season.

(B) Water cycle - (V) Circulation of water

  • The circulation of water between lands and the ocean is known as the watercycle.

(C) Groundwater - (I) Handpump

  • The water below the earth's surface is called groundwater.
  • Groundwater is drawn through a handpump.

(D) Dew on leaves of grass - (II) Winter morning

  • During winter mornings, water droplets were formed on the leaves of grass because of dew.
  • In the winter time, the temperature of the night was usually low. So, the surface of the leave of the grass became more cold.
  • At this temperature, air cannot hold moisture and finally condense.
  • This condensed water vapor forms water droplets (called dew) on the leaves of grass.

(E) Transpiration - (IV) Water released by plants

  • The process by which the plants and trees lose water in the form of water vapor through the pores of their leaves is known as transpiration.
