Solution

1 mole of the monohydrate complex CrCl36H2O on reaction with excess of AgNO3 solution gives two moles of white precipitate of AgCl. Since it is monohydrate, 1 molecule of water is present in the ionization sphere and 5 molecules of water are present in coordination sphere. To complete the coordination number of 6, one chloride ion is present in the coordination sphere and remaining 2 chloride ions are present in the ionization sphere which reacts with silver ions to give two moles of AgCl ppt.
